How acting classes work

Our group acting classes give kids and teens a supportive place to learn, take creative risks, and become more comfortable performing with others.

  • Classes are grouped by age (8–12 and 13–17), with instruction and activities suited to each group.

  • Students learn through warm-ups, theatre games, improvisation, scenes, and character work.

  • Mock auditions and stage, television and film exercises help students build skills and confidence.

Looking for one-on-one coaching?

Private acting lessons are also available.

Onstage experience is part of class

Our acting classrooms and performance space are in the same location, giving students opportunities to take what they are learning directly to the stage.

  • Students may rehearse scenes and monologues onstage.

  • They practice projection, movement, and stage presence.

  • Working onstage helps students become more comfortable and confident performing in front of others.

What ages are the group acting classes for?

Classes are available for ages 8–12 and 13–17. Separating students by age allows the instruction and activities to be suited to each group.

What do students learn in acting classes?

Students develop acting skills through warm-ups, theatre games, improvisation, scene work, scripts and character development. Classes may also include monologues, mock auditions and television and film exercises.

Do students get opportunities to work onstage?

Yes. Our acting classrooms and performance space are in the same location, so students may rehearse scenes and monologues onstage during their regular class. This helps them develop stage presence and confidence.

Does my child need any previous acting experience?

No. We welcome complete beginners as well as students with acting experience. Instructors help each student participate at a level that feels comfortable.

Are acting classes helpful for shy or nervous students?

Yes. The supportive group environment gives students opportunities to express themselves, take creative risks and become more comfortable performing in front of others.

How often do acting classes meet?

Group acting classes meet once a week for two hours. Tuition is month-to-month.
