Bring original songs to the stage
Writing a song is only part of the creative process. When they feel ready, songwriting students can use our free performance workshops to try their original music onstage in a supportive setting.

Who are songwriting lessons designed for?
Songwriting lessons are designed for kids and teens who want to express their ideas through music. We welcome complete beginners as well as students who have already started writing songs.
Students learn how lyrics, melody, chords, and song structure work together. They also receive supportive feedback as they develop their ideas, revise their work, and complete original songs.
What do students learn in songwriting lessons?
Can songwriting students perform their original songs?
Yes. Free performance workshops are included with lessons. When students feel ready, they can practice performing their original songs onstage and may participate in performance opportunities throughout the year. Participation is always optional.
Does my child need any previous songwriting experience?
No. Students can begin with a lyric, melody, story, or simple idea. The instructor will meet them at their current level and guide them through the process one step at a time.
Not necessarily. Some students write using their voice, while others use piano or guitar. An instructor can help each student work with the musical skills they already have.
Does my child need to sing or play an instrument?
Are songwriting lessons private?
Yes. Songwriting is taught through weekly private lessons, allowing the instructor to focus on each student’s ideas, musical interests, and creative goals. Both 30-minute and 60-minute lessons are available.
